DevLog #7: Response to "Ports to Other Platforms"
Response to 10Print (CH 25) "Ports to Other Platforms"
I enjoyed the analogy used in the excerpt to describe the relationship between programming and porting. The idea that one language branches to an infinitesimal number of interpretation and decision making is beautiful. Certain choices that stray or stay aligned from or with the original program are what makes up the interesting deviations and outcome. Esolang is short for esoteric programming language, used to formulate conceptual art from programming.
I enjoy Brainfuck for its choice of extreme minimalism and absolutely seemingly useless function of deconstructing it to its bare bones. I like that the lack of characters lead to very interesting and elongated outcomes, hence the name “Brainfuck”.
