DevLog #1: The Door Problem
Frankly, being a game designer or worse, being a game design major is one of the most annoying thing in your life especially when you actually sit down to produce a game. I think that the Door Problem is a perfect checklist to further refining a well-structured game.
The most appealing roles were jobs related to directly influencing the game mechanics or game psychology such as the gameplay programmer or designer. Though this is a subject I am not very strong at, creating mechanics that beautifully encapsulates certain thinking maps in creative ways is very attractive to me. Other roles that I am better at are concept artists and art directors, who constructs the visual idea of the subject in the space.
Personally the least appealing of these roles is the player, both from the standpoint of being one and interacting with one. Though most times many game designers focus on the player in realizing a game idea, I find this factor to be the least appealing and most tedious part of a project. However, I do agree that it is the most essential aspect of completing a game.
